Social Media Numbers.
It's hard to argue with facts.
You can look at hits on your website and get starry eyed about the numbers. But that is no comparison to half as many comments left on your Facebook page about the products or services you provide. And while those comments can be good or bad, they can all be of benefit to you.

Have you noticed the businesses that are promoting their Facebook pages? If you haven't, then keep an eye open for them.
I was watching football on October 18, 2009 around 5 pm on CBS. Something different caught my eye in a television commercial for Honda. They did not list their website at the end of their advertisement. They listed the link to their Facebook page instead! I went to the site later that evening and saw that they had acquired 62,861 fans at that time.

Walmart has many sites on Twitter. Some sites are in English and others are in Spanish. Some sites are managed by Walmart and others are attacks from unhappy customers.
Go to Twitter, click on "Find People", type in "walmart" and see what the company faces in social media.

Flip Video promoted their products extensively on Facebook and now their ads are seen on national TV. Their fans on Facebook tell their stories of how they use the Flip Video cameras. And you see a lot of happy fans.
